Antonella Scarfiello is the Exterior Engineering Manager at Tankoa Yachts, where she leads the development of custom yacht exteriors from concept to delivery. Based in La Spezia, Italy, she oversees the complete engineering process—from 3D modeling each exterior component to managing production drawings, coordinating with regulatory bodies, and incorporating client-driven modifications. With multiple yachts under construction, she is known for her hands-on leadership, technical precision, and deep understanding of the luxury yacht lifecycle.

Antonella holds a Master’s degree in Architecture and a second Master’s in Yacht Design from Politecnico di Milano, which she earned through a competitive scholarship. Her career began in Italy but quickly expanded across Europe. After gaining experience in civil and marine architecture, she joined Feadship in the Netherlands as an exterior engineer, where she deepened her expertise working on some of the industry’s most prestigious projects. Her international background also includes experience in the UK, where she completed an internship in a yacht design office in Southampton.

Currently managing three yachts in simultaneous development, Antonella works meticulously to ensure that each vessel reflects the highest standards of engineering, design, and client satisfaction. She is passionate about building technically complex, fully custom yachts and thrives in the fast-paced, detail-driven world of high-end yacht construction.

In 2024, she was named a finalist in the Trailblazer category of the Women’s Yachting Awards, recognizing her leadership, resilience, and contribution to advancing women in technical roles within the yachting industry. Having experienced both empowering and challenging workplace cultures, Antonella is a vocal advocate for more inclusive and supportive environments for women in engineering. She believes mentorship and solidarity among women are crucial in male-dominated sectors like yachting.
