Svetlana Mojić Džakula is the Founder and Creative Director of Salt & Water, an internationally awarded design studio specializing in yacht interiors, exterior styling, cruise vessel interiors, and innovative floating concepts. Recognized for her ability to create elegant, highly functional spaces for life on the water, she leads projects from concept through completion for private yacht owners, shipyards, and maritime clients across Europe.
With nearly two decades of professional experience in yacht and marine design, Svetlana has built a reputation for combining sophisticated aesthetics with practical, buildable solutions. Through Salt & Water, she oversees every stage of the design process, including spatial strategy, interior architecture, material selection, visualization, technical detailing, and production coordination. Her work spans both new-build and refit projects, supported by a trusted network of craftsmen, naval architects, and industry partners.
A passionate advocate for sustainable renovation, Svetlana has developed a design approach focused on thoughtful refits that preserve valuable existing elements while transforming spaces to better serve modern owners and guests. By reducing unnecessary demolition and material waste, her projects demonstrate how sustainability and exceptional design can work hand in hand.
What distinguishes Svetlana's work is her deep understanding of life at sea. With more than 30 years of sailing experience, including over a decade on the national sailing team, she brings firsthand knowledge of how people live, move, and interact onboard. This unique perspective allows her to create interiors that are not only beautiful but also intuitive, comfortable, and purpose-driven.
Her educational background includes a Master's degree in Architecture, specialized yacht design training under renowned naval architect Lars Larsson in Gothenburg, and a scholarship to attend the prestigious Yacht Design and Construction Master's program at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Italy.
Beyond her design practice, Svetlana serves on the Board of the Serbian Sailing Federation, writes regularly for Nautika Magazin on yacht interiors and life onboard, and hosts a regional podcast dedicated to yachts, boating, and sailing. Through her work, she continues to shape the future of marine design by creating spaces that elevate the experience of living on the water.
