Jessica Galea is a Partner at Dingli & Dingli Law Firm and leads the firm’s Yachting Department, where she specializes in all aspects of maritime and yachting law. Based in Valletta, Malta, she supports a wide range of clients in matters including yacht and vessel sale and purchase, registration under Malta and other flags, marine finance, leasing structures, VAT and tax issues, crew employment, importation procedures, and regulatory compliance.
Jessica began her legal journey at Dingli & Dingli as a trainee in 2003 and officially joined the firm in 2009 after graduating as a Doctor of Laws (LL.D) from the University of Malta. She also holds a Master’s Degree (LL.M.) in International Maritime Law from the IMO’s International Maritime Law Institute (IMLI), where she graduated in 2009. During her academic years, she completed the IFSP Trusts Law course and contributed to the Maltese Trusts Law Cases and Materials Volume Two. She also completed a traineeship at the European Commission's Directorate General for Taxation and Customs in Brussels.
A lifelong lover of the sea, Jessica grew up on boats in Malta—a leading international flag state for yachts and ships—which naturally drew her toward a career in maritime law. She understands French and is fluent in English, Italian, and Maltese, and brings a deeply collaborative and global approach to her work in the yachting industry.
Jessica is a member of the Malta Chamber of Advocates and the Malta Maritime Law Association, where she sits on the Yachting Committee. She is also the Secretary of the Superyacht Industry Network Malta and Vice-Chairperson of the Malta Chamber’s Yachting Services Business Section committee.
In March 2025, Jessica joined Yacht Femme and is currently launching a legal podcast with Yachting International Radio to help demystify legal concepts in the yachting world.
Driven by curiosity and a passion for the maritime sector, Jessica thrives on the dynamic, cross-border nature of her work. She attributes her success to strong teamwork, supportive clients, and her family.
