Michelle Van der Merwe | Superyacht Account Manager at Pantaenius

Michelle started her insurance career in the UK with a large private medical insurance company in the claims department. Early in her career, she played a key role in designing a pilot scheme to transfer claims processing to India via satellite link, and spent three weeks in Bangalore delivering on-site training.


Over the following 12 years, Michelle worked for two major international insurers in London, helping develop corporate medical insurance products while managing high-performing customer service teams.


After relocating to the South of France, Michelle joined Pantaenius Monaco in 2007, entering the world of yachting. She currently manages the Superyacht team, overseeing insurance for superyachts and their crew. In her role as Business Development Lead, she focuses on growing the company’s global book of business and increasing brand awareness for Pantaenius within the international superyacht community.
