At MaritimeMT, CEO Pauline Micallef is shaping the future of seafarers—after one of the fastest leadership rises in the industry. She joined the company as a financial controller and, within just three months, was promoted to CEO. Today, she leads business development, drives internationalization, and steers strategic growth for one of Malta’s key maritime training institutions.

Based in Malta, Pauline brings a strong financial and academic foundation to her role. A CPA warranted accountant with an ACCA qualification, she also holds an MBA from Henley Business School at the University of Reading. Over more than a decade in managerial leadership, she has directed large teams through multimillion-dollar projects, with a particular focus on business development and operational excellence. Alongside her executive work, she lectures in Financial Management and Microsoft Excel, reinforcing her commitment to education.

Her introduction to yachting was almost accidental—but transformative. After accepting a role as financial controller at MaritimeMT, she was quickly immersed in the world of superyacht training through the company’s academy. The dynamism and global nature of the sector immediately captured her interest. What began as a financial leadership position quickly evolved into a broader strategic vision: building pathways for the next generation of maritime professionals.

As CEO, Pauline’s focus is firmly top-down and growth-oriented. She continuously analyses opportunities for expansion, strengthens leadership frameworks, and works toward solidifying the company’s international presence. Her next milestone is clear: expanding MaritimeMT’s global footprint while ensuring it remains a benchmark for quality maritime education.

Beyond MaritimeMT, Pauline is deeply engaged in Malta’s yachting ecosystem. She represents the company within the Malta Chamber of Commerce’s Yachting Services Business Section and serves as Treasurer on the Council of the Super Yacht Industry Network Malta. She is also a founding member and Treasurer of WISTA Malta, contributing to stronger female representation and leadership within maritime industries.

Reflecting on her journey, Pauline often says she wishes she had known just how exciting the industry could be—she would have entered it sooner. Her career stands as proof that strategic thinking, financial acumen, and decisive leadership can accelerate impact in even the most specialized sectors..
